Are You Interested in Serving on the R2AC Board?
If you recognize that the arts are valuable to the quality of life in North Central Minnesota, we invite you to consider becoming a Board Member. Our ten-member Board is comprised of two representatives from each of the five counties that we serve: Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen. Terms are for two years, renewable to four years.
What a Board member does.
Much of the Board's activity revolves around policy-making, budgeting, and reviewing and awarding arts grants to our region's organizations and artists. As a Board Member, you'll learn a lot about how good grants are written, and you'll find out about the people that are making arts activities happen in this region. You'll also work with a group of really nice people.
Funding.
Our operating and granting money comes from an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature. We also receive generous funding from the McKnight Foundation.
Meetings.
The Region 2 Arts Council operates in the spirit of the open meeting law. Meetings are held in Bemidji seven times per year, on the third Monday evening of the month. Mileage is reimbursed.
