Welcome to the Region 2 Arts Council

Since 1980 the Region 2 Arts Council (R2AC) has been helping the people of North Central Minnesota strengthen the presence and the purpose of the arts in their lives. 

We offer grants to organizations, schools and individual artists.

We have special grant programs to help you put on a workshop or develop arts-in-education partnerships with your community.

We have a consultant who offers hands-on marketing assistance to visual artists through our Arts Marketing Program.

We have an on-line Artist Registry which showcases the artists of the region.

Our free monthly newsletter "Northern Arts News" highlights events and opprtunities around the region.

R2AC serves people who live in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen Counties of Minnesota.

R2AC is one of eleven Regional Arts Councils in the State of Minnesota. The Regional Arts Council system was created by the Minnesota State Legislature in 1977 and ensures that all Minnesotans have access to the arts, no matter where in the state they may live. The Regional Arts Councils work in partnership with the Minnesota State Arts Board.

Primary funding for the R2AC comes from an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature. R2AC also receives generous funding from the McKnight Foundation.

The Region 2 Arts Council strengthens the presence of the arts by supporting opportunities for arts creation, promotion, education and funding for the people of Beltrami, Hubbard, Clearwater, Lake of the Woods and Mahnomen counties.
